Shawn Guan
Shawn Guan is the CEO and co-founder of Umbo Computer Vision, an AI company building autonomous video security systems that watch camera feeds and flag real threats instead of stray animals and swaying trees. After roughly 2,000 client meetings in the traditional surveillance business taught him how badly false alarms wear people down, he co-founded Umbo in 2014 with Ping-Lin Chang and Tingfan Wu to put deep learning behind the lens. The company raised about $17.6 million, won a Best Startup nod at NVIDIA's 2016 deep learning conference and SIA's Best in Video Analytics in 2017, and ran offices in San Francisco, Taipei and London.
Steve Huang
Steve Huang is the founder and CEO of KiWi New Energy, a Taiwan-born, San Mateo-based startup building what he calls an operating system for global renewable energy. A serial green entrepreneur with more than 15 years across the semiconductor and solar value chain, Huang went from NVIDIA and public silicon-wafer ventures to a near-total collapse when Chinese rivals undercut his micro-inverter business, then rebuilt around an AI-driven energy datacenter that matches clean supply with retail and small-business demand in real time.
Hsin Hsiao
Hsin Hsiao (蕭新晟), also known as 蕭A, is the co-founder and CEO of OenTech (應援科技), a Taipei-based fintech building a one-stop integrated payment cloud platform that combines third-party payment processing with supporter-relationship management. A physicist turned software engineer, he trained at UCLA and Stony Brook before working across New York startups, co-launched the crowdsourced 'National Treasure' archival project through Taiwan's g0v civic-tech community, and ran for Taipei City Council in 2018. Since founding OenTech, he has grown it to more than 3,000 organizations, secured a NT$100 million Series A in 2025, and pushed payment security and agentic-commerce standards in Taiwan.
KiWi New Energy
KiWi New Energy is a Taiwan- and Silicon Valley-based clean energy company building what it calls the operating system for global renewable energy. Rather than manufacturing more solar panels, KiWi focuses on the AI dispatch layer between generation and consumption: its AI-Driven Energy Datacenter (AI-EDC) matches clean supply to multi-site retail and SME demand in real time, aggregating fragmented buyers into virtual demand pools and using blockchain-certified renewable energy certificates to make green power traceable. Its deployments include a rare control-layer integration with Tesla Energy storage for FamilyMart convenience stores in Taiwan, plus customers like Decathlon and Wang Steak. Founded by serial energy entrepreneur Dr. Steve Huang, the company reached breakeven in 2025 and is expanding into Japan and the United States.
