Smashcut
Smashcut is a New Jersey-based education technology company that has built a next-generation online learning platform designed specifically for video-centric, collaborative education in the visual and media arts. It partners with universities and education brands - including NYU Tisch School of the Arts and Pearson's Escape Studios - to develop and deliver branded, media-based online courses in filmmaking, screenwriting, animation and related creative disciplines, combining video hosting, annotation, live 1:1 instructor feedback and course management in a single platform. The company raised $7 million in Series A funding from Pearson Ventures in 2021.
Padlet
Padlet is a San Francisco- and Singapore-based software company behind the popular collaborative platform of the same name, where users post text, images, links, files, and audio to shared digital bulletin boards called 'padlets'. Founded in 2008 as Wallwisher by Nitesh Goel and Pranav Piyush, the company grew into one of education technology's most widely used tools, reporting tens of millions of monthly active users - most of them teachers and students. It has since expanded beyond bulletin boards into an infinite-canvas whiteboard called Sandbox and a suite of AI creation tools, while remaining a small, largely bootstrapped team.

Skillshare is an online learning community where creatives learn by doing. Through tens of thousands of project-based video classes taught by working professionals - in illustration, design, photography, film, marketing, music and more - the New York-based platform turns a flat monthly subscription into access to a library built and taught by practitioners rather than academics. Founded in 2010, it has grown into one of the largest creative learning marketplaces in the world.
