Derk Arts is a Dutch physician-turned-entrepreneur and the founder and CEO of Castor, a clinical-trial software company he started in 2012 after coding the first version of its Electronic Data Capture platform himself. Trained as a medical doctor and epidemiologist with a PhD, he built Castor to make clinical research more inclusive, patient-centric, and data-driven. The platform now supports thousands of trials across roughly 90 countries and was used by the World Health Organization for its Solidarity Trial. Castor has raised more than $60 million, including a $45 million Series B in 2021, and Arts is a recognized voice on decentralized trials, eConsent, and the responsible use of AI in research.
Vish Srivastava
Vish Srivastava is the co-founder and CEO of Century Health, a New York based AI company turning the messy, unstructured clinical notes buried inside electronic health records into structured, analyzable real-world evidence. Century's abstraction engine, CHARM, reads doctors' notes and pathology reports and pulls out clinical variables with 97% validated accuracy while keeping traceability back to the source document. The company focuses on therapeutic areas like gastroenterology, neurology, and rheumatology, and raised an oversubscribed $5M seed round in May 2026 led by Origin Ventures. Srivastava's pitch is simple and stubborn: the data needed to accelerate medical breakthroughs has already been collected during patient care; it just needs to be made accessible and actionable.
Bask Gill
Bask Gill is the Co-Founder of Power (withpower.com), a San Francisco-based clinical trial platform that uses AI to match patients with clinical trials. After watching his father struggle to navigate a broken clinical trial discovery system following a multiple myeloma diagnosis, Bask co-founded Power in May 2021 alongside Brandon Li. The platform has connected over 600,000 patients to trials across 10,000+ medical conditions, with 40% being non-white patients - a deliberate focus on diversity and access. Power has raised $19M in funding including a $12M Series A in early 2024, and grown to 230 employees.
