Omar Issa
Omar Issa is the co-founder and CEO of ResiQuant, a San Francisco startup that uses structural engineering AI to read a building's hidden vulnerabilities and rebuild how property insurers underwrite catastrophe risk. A second-generation structural engineer raised in the Bay Area, he earned a PhD at Stanford's John A. Blume Earthquake Engineering Center, specializing in machine learning for disaster recovery. After walking through the rubble of earthquakes from Ridgecrest to Turkey and the wreckage of Hurricane Ian, he and co-founder Francisco Galvis built ResiQuant to give underwriters the engineering-grade data they were missing, raising $4M in seed funding led by LDV Capital in 2025.
James Chan
James Chan is the CFO of LDV Capital, a New York-based early-stage venture fund investing in visual technology and AI startups. With 20+ years spanning public accounting, Fortune 500 corporate finance, and CFO roles at hypergrowth startups and venture firms, he founded JMC Strategic Advisory in 2022 to serve as a fractional CFO across multiple funds simultaneously - including Bow Capital, BankTech Ventures, Breakout Ventures, Lineate, and First Spark Ventures - overseeing more than $1 billion in assets under management. He holds a BA from UCLA and an MS in Business Taxation from USC, and is known for eating ice cream with chopsticks.
Max Blacker
Max Blacker is an Investment Analyst at LDV Capital, a venture firm focused on visual technology and computer vision. A former professional soccer player who played for Crewe United FC in Belfast's Northern Irish 4th Division, he turned a leave of absence from Brandeis University into a founding moment - launching SETGK, a goalkeeper glove company that became one of the fastest-growing brands in the space. He holds a BA in Business from Brandeis and an MS in Finance from Johns Hopkins Carey School of Business, where he also kicked field goals for the football team and was a Global Finalist in the 2024 Venture Capital Investment Competition. At LDV Capital, he focuses on the intersection of visual technology with sports, health, and nutrition.
