Founded in 2016 by dentist-engineer Dr. Ali Sadat, it operates what it calls the first natively-built AI healthcare clearinghouse - a network that reads X-rays and clinical records, compares proposed procedures against millions of adjudicated cases, and lets payers, providers and patients see coverage, cost and payout in real time so claims settle in seconds instead of weeks. Backed by Intel Capital and SoftBank, Retrace has raised roughly $18 million to automate the paperwork that sits between a dentist's chair and an insurer's check.
LightSpun
LightSpun (formerly 32Health) is a Boston-based, AI-first software company rebuilding the back office of dental insurance. Its modular, API-first platform automates claims adjudication, benefits administration, provider onboarding, credentialing, and contact-center workflows for dental payers and dental service organizations. Customers auto-adjudicate more than 90% of claims, cut administrative overhead roughly in half, and shrink provider onboarding from 45-60 days to under a week. The company raised a $13M Series A in September 2025 and powers credentialing and claims for a large share of U.S. dental providers, including through a collaboration with the American Dental Association.

He spent 15 years at LIBERTY Dental Plan, where he grew the business to more than $900 million in sales and over 6 million covered lives across all 50 states. After serving as Chief Growth Officer at Vheda Health, he was named Strategic Advisor to the CEO of LightSpun, the AI-powered dental insurance administration platform formerly known as 32Health, in April 2026, where he leads national growth strategy and payer partnerships.

Catch is a benefits platform built for the more than 50 million Americans who work for themselves and have no employer to hand them a health plan. It helps freelancers, contractors, gig workers and solopreneurs find, compare and enroll in health, dental and vision insurance, applying tax credits instantly so coverage costs less. The service is free to users. Founded in 2019 as a Y Combinator startup, Catch raised about $20M, was wound down by its original founders in early 2023, then bought and relaunched the same year by two operators who personally believed independent workers deserved a real safety net.

Wisdom is a New York-based AI-powered dental revenue cycle management platform that helps dental practices collect more from insurers, faster. Founded in 2023 by fintech veteran Stoyan Kenderov and billing expert Ashley Bond, Wisdom pairs proprietary AI with dedicated human billing teams to handle the full claims lifecycle — from insurance verification to denial appeals. The company has raised $28M in funding and reports that over 98% of clients see increased insurance billing revenues after joining.
