Angèle Maki, PhD, is a biopharmaceutical business development executive with more than 20 years of deal-making across emerging biotechs and global pharma. In December 2025 she became the first Chief Business Officer of Ability Biotherapeutics, a Montreal-based company building logic-gated antibodies with its generative-AI platform AbiLeap. A Stanford-trained biological chemist who started at the University of Winnipeg, she has held senior roles at Medarex, Bristol Myers Squibb, Genentech, 23andMe, Merck, Eli Lilly, ReCode Therapeutics and Callio Therapeutics, and chairs the non-profit Canadian Entrepreneurs in Life Sciences.
Aditya Venugopal
Aditya Venugopal is the Chief Business Officer of Alentis Therapeutics, a clinical-stage Swiss biotech chasing first-in-class therapies aimed at claudin-1 for fibrosis and cancer. An immunologist turned dealmaker, he spent 15-plus years moving between the lab bench and the negotiating table: a Ph.D. in immunology from Weill Cornell, seven years in strategic life-science consulting, then senior roles at Intercept, VectivBio and Versanis Bio. He has a habit of being in the room when companies get acquired - VectivBio went to Ironwood, Versanis went to Eli Lilly - and he reunited with CEO Mark Pruzanski at Alentis after first partnering with him at Intercept.
David Steinberg
David Steinberg is Chief Business Officer at Formation Bio, an AI-native pharmaceutical company in New York, where he runs in- and out-licensing and pipeline strategy. A serial biotech company builder, he co-founded PureTech Health and served as its Chief Innovation Officer, was a General Partner at Longwood Fund, and founded or led a string of NASDAQ-listed and venture-backed companies including Pyxis Oncology, Vor Biopharma, Vedanta Biosciences and Be Biopharma. He pairs a Cornell biology degree with a University of Chicago Booth MBA and a career that began in R&D and strategy consulting.
