Cromatic is an AI-native platform for life-science R&D outsourcing and revenue operations. It runs a curated marketplace connecting biotech and pharma companies with vetted Contract Research Organizations (CROs) and Contract Development and Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs), then layers on vendor discovery, project tracking, data storage, collaboration, contracting, and milestone payments so scientists can outsource complex research without stitching together spreadsheets, email threads, and word-of-mouth referrals. Founded in 2022 by Stanford geneticist Ann Lin and former Meta engineer Anne Chen, the company raised a $5.3M oversubscribed seed round in November 2023 and manages tens of millions of dollars in research budgets.
Ann Lin
Ann Lin is the co-founder and CEO of Cromatic, an AI-native RevOps platform that helps life-science companies find and manage contract research organizations (CROs). A Stanford genetics PhD and Forbes 30 Under 30 (Science, 2020) honoree, she made her name in the lab of Jason Sheltzer at Cold Spring Harbor, where her team showed that a celebrated cancer drug did not hit its supposed target. After scientifically co-founding the drug-discovery startup Meliora Therapeutics, she turned a Google Sheet of outsourcing complaints into a company, raising a $5.3M seed round in 2023 to fix the notoriously opaque market for biotech R&D vendors.
