Smashcut is a New Jersey-based education technology company that has built a next-generation online learning platform designed specifically for video-centric, collaborative education in the visual and media arts. It partners with universities and education brands - including NYU Tisch School of the Arts and Pearson's Escape Studios - to develop and deliver branded, media-based online courses in filmmaking, screenwriting, animation and related creative disciplines, combining video hosting, annotation, live 1:1 instructor feedback and course management in a single platform. The company raised $7 million in Series A funding from Pearson Ventures in 2021.
Domestika
Domestika is a global learning platform for creatives - illustrators, designers, photographers, animators, writers - built around professionally produced video courses and an enormous community of working professionals. Founded in Spain in 2002 as a forum, it became a unicorn in 2022 and now hosts millions of students taking courses in more than 10 languages.
