Nitrode
Nitrode is a San Francisco AI research company building the evaluation, data, and post-training layer for game development. It started in Y Combinator's Winter 2025 batch as a Godot-based AI game engine that let anyone prototype a 3D game in a day, then pivoted toward frontier research: it runs GameEngineBench, a benchmark that scores how well AI models handle real game-engine coding tasks, and produces expert-labeled datasets and reinforcement-learning environments (including Unreal Engine 5) for AI labs and enterprises. Nitrode's bet is that game development will be handled by systems of specialized models working together, not one general-purpose model.
Sol Browser
Sol Browser is a San Francisco startup (Y Combinator Fall 2025) building a browser designed to work as a developer's IDE. It lets engineers run multiple AI coding agents - Claude Code, Codex, Cursor - in parallel from browser tabs, alongside terminals, diff viewers, running apps, docs and pull requests. The company began as Inspector, an AI IDE that connected the browser to the codebase so agents could see the same visuals, elements and logs a developer sees, then expanded that idea into a full browser workspace. Founded by Quentin Romero Lauro and Michael Klikushin, it operates as Sandbox Technologies, Inc.
Saoud Rizwan
Saoud Rizwan is the founder and CEO of Cline, an open-source AI coding agent that runs inside code editors like VS Code. He built the first version in June 2024, about ten days after Anthropic released Claude 3.5 Sonnet, as a side project for the company's Build with Claude hackathon. He didn't win, but the project caught fire online and Cline has since passed millions of installs and raised $32M in seed and Series A funding from Emergence Capital and Pace Capital. Before Cline, Rizwan was a prolific iOS and Swift open-source developer. His pitch is unusually blunt for the AI era: Cline captures zero margin on AI usage, shows developers exactly what each request costs, and lets them bring their own models.
Corridor
Corridor is a San Francisco security company building an AI-native platform that embeds protection directly into AI coding workflows. Its Agentic Coding Security Management (ACSM) platform reviews every file edit and pull request in real time, catching vulnerabilities as code is generated by tools like Cursor and Claude Code rather than after it ships. Founded in 2025 by former CISA staffers Jack Cable and Ashwin Ramaswami with security veteran Alex Stamos, Corridor has raised $30.4M, including a $25M Series A at a $200M valuation in March 2026.
Windsurf
Windsurf (formerly Codeium, originally Exafunction) is a Mountain View-based AI coding company that built one of the first agentic AI-native IDEs, powered by its Cascade agent. Founded in 2021 by MIT classmates Varun Mohan and Douglas Chen, it grew to over 1 million developers and $82M ARR before a dramatic July 2025 split: Google paid roughly $2.4B to hire its founders and license its technology, while Cognition (maker of Devin) acquired the remaining product, brand, team, and customer base. In June 2026, Cognition relaunched the Windsurf IDE as Devin Desktop, an agent command center for managing local and cloud coding agents.
