Ask ten engineers what is running on a large enterprise network and you may get eleven answers. The diagram on the wall was accurate six months ago. The spreadsheet in the CMDB lists devices that were decommissioned years back. And somewhere in the seams, a misconfiguration is waiting for the worst possible moment to matter. IP Fabric was built to close that gap.

Founded in 2015 by Pavel Bykov, Roman Aprias, and Miroslav Hybl, IP Fabric is a vendor-neutral automated network assurance platform. In plain terms: it connects to the network, reads it, and reconstructs what is really there - every device, every connection, every configuration - then draws the map and checks it against what the network is supposed to be doing.

The company calls the result a digital twin, though it is careful about the phrase. IP Fabric positions itself as an assurance platform first, treating the twin as a use case rather than the product. The distinction matters. The point is not a pretty replica of the network; it is a continuously verified answer to a simple question - is the network doing what we think it is doing?

That question has teeth. In one documented deployment, IP Fabric's ServiceNow integration surfaced an estimated $300,000 in renewal costs still being paid on devices that had already been retired, along with asset data inaccurate enough to invite regulatory fines. The network had drifted from the record, and nobody had noticed.

The platform is agentless and read-only by design, which makes it one of the least intrusive ways to map a live production estate. Nothing is installed on the devices; nothing is changed. It simply observes, models, and reports - then plugs the verified picture into the automation and ITSM tools teams already run.
