Fifty-nine staffing suppliers ought to offer a pharmaceutical company plenty of choice. They also offer fifty-nine relationships to manage. In one AgileOne case study, a healthcare business spending more than $120 million a year on US contingent labor wanted another $15 million in savings from an already mature program. The interesting problem was hiding between the suppliers.
- AgileOne manages the systems and suppliers behind enterprise hiring.
- Its offer combines workforce software, operating teams, and procurement expertise.
- The useful lesson: examine how work gets bought before buying another recruiting tool.
AgileOne took responsibility for supplier contracts and brought together managed services, vendor management software, and statement-of-work tools. Supplier scorecards and standardized processes helped shrink the roster from 59 to 24. Its report described savings on track to reach $20.7 million. These are vendor-reported results, but the mechanism is wonderfully unglamorous: fewer disconnected decisions, better information, clearer accountability.
01 / The company behind the hiring
AgileOne occupies an easily overlooked layer of the labor market. A staffing agency finds workers. A large employer might use dozens of those agencies, alongside contractors and consulting firms. Someone must decide who supplies what, under which terms, with whose approval. AgileOne sells the technology and operational management for that layer, serving mid-market and enterprise customers.
Its managed services program, or MSP, gives an employer a central point of contact for contingent workforce procurement. Teams manage supplier performance, consolidate invoices, standardize hiring processes, and monitor program costs. Recruitment process outsourcing, or RPO, addresses another need: running all or part of permanent recruitment, with recruiters working remotely or inside the client's organization.
02 / One worker, several kinds of paperwork
Behind the service sits a product family called Acceleration. AccelerationVMS is the software-as-a-service system for the temporary workforce: requisitions, sourcing, onboarding, approvals, timecards, invoicing, and offboarding. It collects the data generated along the way. Its analytics offering uses Power BI to turn that activity into dashboards for spending, supplier performance, and planning.
AccelerationSOW handles services procurement, including consulting engagements and outsourced projects. Its unit of organization is the project, with milestones, billing, and supplier oversight. AccelerationICC combines software and specialist support for independent-contractor classification and engagement. A person delivering work might enter through any of these doors. The paperwork changes because the relationship changes.

- EngageSelect and onboard
- ManageTrack work and pay
- LearnReview the data
AllSource PPS provides employer-of-record payrolling for workers already identified by the client. AgileOne describes a cost-plus model. That distinction matters: paying and administering a known worker is a different service from finding one. Buyers can separate sourcing, employment administration, and program management when deciding which capabilities they actually need.
03 / Ownership becomes part of the offer
Incorporated in 1999, AgileOne is the technology and total talent management flagship of the ActOne Group, founded by Janice Bryant Howroyd. Its own careers page describes a privately held, 100% woman- and minority-owned organization operating in 32 countries. Those details become commercially relevant when a procurement department has supplier-diversity objectives alongside cost and delivery targets.
Consider Bristol-Myers Squibb. In 2018, AgileOne announced its selection as the biopharmaceutical company's contingent workforce management partner. The customer's procurement chief, Farryn Melton, explicitly connected the decision to supplier diversity, saying the selection was “critical to our supplier diversity strategy.” Here, ownership was part of the purchasing rationale, alongside the workforce services.

04 / The supplier is also a customer of the process
AgileOne says its global network contains more than 2,500 suppliers. Its Supplier Partnership & Engagement team evaluates capabilities, analyzes markets, and manages supplier performance. For employers, the attraction is one managed relationship across a sprawling supply base. For participating staffing firms, strong performance can open opportunities in additional job categories or client programs.
This makes supplier management more interesting than a campaign to squeeze rates. The network must remain worth joining. A smaller roster can simplify administration; an overly narrow one can also miss scarce skills or local knowledge. The practical question is whether selection rewards useful capability. Counting vendors alone cannot answer it.
05 / Build some tools. Bring others.
AgileOne's market position combines proprietary software with service delivery and outside technology. In September 2025, it added Fairmarkit to its technology portfolio, extending AI-powered sourcing across workforce and services procurement. Its Aria offering promotes orchestration of complete business workflows alongside human expertise, expanding the story beyond the conventional hiring dashboard.
That creates several competitive comparisons. Enterprise recruitment buyers can consider Korn Ferry, KellyOCG, Cielo, or PeopleScout. An employer assessing the operating model must also decide how much to run internally. AgileOne's proposition is to put more of the technology, supplier coordination, and delivery responsibility into one relationship.
Sixth overall in HRO Today's buyer-survey rankings. Fourth for deal size; sixth for service quality.
06 / Buy the change, then measure it
HRO Today's October 2026 rankings place AgileOne sixth among enterprise RPO providers. The ratings use buyer feedback across service breadth, deal size, and quality. They offer a useful reference point for a shortlist. A particular factory, laboratory, or recruiting team will still need a program designed around its own bottleneck.
AgileOne's consulting sequence is discover, innovate, transform, optimize. Its transformation stage explicitly includes stakeholder buy-in, communications, process transition, and timelines. The implication for buyers is plain: software needs people willing to change how they approve and purchase work. Fragmented data, managers bypassing the process, or an unwilling supplier base can undermine the premise.
The transferable move is to map one engagement from request to final invoice. Mark every handoff, repeated entry, and unclear decision. Then compare a proposed program's fees, implementation work, and ongoing administration against that baseline. AgileOne's business rests on the value hiding in those handoffs. Sometimes the hiring problem begins long before anyone reads a résumé.
