The cult New York shirting label quietly dressing downtown's coolest women - luxurious, but not precious.
TWP - the initials of founder and creative director Trish Wescoat Pound. Photographed as the brand's wordmark, New York.
TWP takes menswear proportions and luxury Italian fabric, cuts them for the reality of women's lives, and makes them in New York City.
TWP is a womenswear label founded by Trish Wescoat Pound, the designer best known for launching Haute Hippie and, before that, working at Theory and Michael Kors. Raised in Oklahoma but a New Yorker at heart, she blends the utilitarian spirit of the American Midwest with a metropolitan sensibility. The initials on the label are her own.
The brand grew from a setback. After Haute Hippie was sold in 2015, Wescoat Pound went back to the thing she loved most - shirting. She developed a line of meticulously tailored shirts and began selling them to friends at trunk shows. One of those friends ran into Andrew Rosen, the Theory co-founder who had been Trish's first boss. A lunch turned into an investment, and TWP developed through the pandemic before officially launching for spring 2022. Four years later, it landed on the CFDA's official New York Fashion Week calendar.
Relaxed and relevant tailoring is at the core of what we create.
Figures are approximate and drawn from public sources. TWP sells directly through its e-commerce site and SoHo flagship, and wholesales to luxury retailers including Moda Operandi, Fivestory, The Conservatory, and Garmany.
Menswear-inspired shirts in luxury Italian cotton - including the relaxed "Boyfriend Shirt" and the cropped "Next Ex."
Blazers, wool trousers, and tailored silhouettes with an intuitive, unrestricted, slightly oversized fit.
Cashmere sweaters and elevated knits designed for layering across seasons.
Denim shirts and jeans that anchor the brand's versatile everyday wardrobe.
Seasonless dresses, skirts, jackets, and outerwear built to be lived in, not saved.
Belts, bags, and hats that round out the TWP closet.
TWP describes itself as advanced-contemporary: well-made clothes for women who don't want to pay full luxury prices. It competes with contemporary and accessible-luxury labels - Theory, Toteme, The Frankie Shop, Nili Lotan, Vince, Frame - while differentiating through shirting expertise, local NYC manufacturing, and an intergenerational design point of view. The bars below are an illustrative read on brand emphasis, not audited data.
The customer: polished but understated women - a downtown and fashion-industry following that has made TWP a cult favorite. The clothes are designed for real life: work, motherhood, travel, and everything between.
The problem it solves: luxury-grade construction and fabric without luxury preciousness or luxury pricing. TWP's answer is a versatile, seasonless wardrobe of elevated essentials built to be layered, restyled, and worn hard.
What makes it different: a shirting-first obsession, manufacturing kept in New York while fabric is sourced from Italian mills, and an intergenerational studio - Trish designs while her daughter Jillian, the styling director, oversees the brand's visuals.
