After a career in private equity and a stint as a freelancer who got tired of reverse-engineering his own paycheck, he started Wingspan in 2019 with Greg Franczyk. The company has processed more than $3 billion in contractor payments and raised $54 million, betting that as one in three American workers go independent, the back office for that work needs to be rebuilt from scratch.
