BMW AG modernized its Mobile Data Recorder (MDR) telemetry system on Microsoft Azure, deploying a multi-agent AI solution that lets engineers query 5-10 terabytes of weekly test-vehicle data in natural language. Built with Microsoft Foundry, the Microsoft Agent Framework, Azure AI Search, Azure OpenAI, and Azure Cosmos DB, the system accelerates vehicle test-data analysis twelvefold, delivers insights in seconds to minutes rather than hours or days, and gives more than 100 engineers direct access to data that once required IT specialists.
