Marco Experiences is a San Francisco startup that turns the miserable job of booking a company offsite into something closer to a search box. Its AI scans 4,000-plus vetted hotels, negotiates group rates 20-40% below retail, and lets teams book rooms, meeting space, and meals with no phone calls, contracts, or service fees. Founded in 2019 by Suman Siva and Nick Freeman, Marco started life as a social-events product, pivoted through virtual experiences during the pandemic, and landed on group travel for distributed teams - now used by 5,000+ teams including Figma, Gusto, Ramp, and Notion.
Allison McMillan
Allison McMillan is an engineering leader who turned a nonprofit-management career and a Rails Girls workshop into a life spent building teams. She runs Tavlin Consulting as a fractional VP of Engineering and facilitator, was Director of Engineering at GitHub and a leader at DEV/Forem and QuotaPath, served as President and board director of Ruby Central, and is known worldwide for her talk 'Baby Driven Development' and the podcast 'Parent Driven Development' about being a parent in tech.
Nick Freeman
Nick Freeman is the co-founder, co-CEO and CTO of Marco Experiences, a San Francisco and New York company that helps companies plan and book team offsites, retreats and group experiences. Before Marco he was one of the founding backend engineers on Instagram Stories, where he helped scale the product from launch to 500 million daily users, and he shipped Cortana for Xbox One at Microsoft. A UC Berkeley computer science and economics graduate, he left Brex in 2020 to build Marco with Suman Siva on the bet that, done thoughtfully, technology can build community. Marco now serves 800+ companies including Meta, Bain and Netflix.
