Pair of Thieves
Pair of Thieves is a Culver City, California men's basics brand that reimagines everyday essentials - socks, underwear, undershirts, tees and loungewear - with a focus on fit, performance fabrics and playful design at accessible prices. Founded in 2012 by three friends (film producer Cash Warren, designer Alan Stuart and operator David Ehrenberg) who each put in $1,500 to start a sock company, the brand grew into a roughly $100 million business sold at Target, Kohl's, Nordstrom, Amazon and direct-to-consumer. Its 'Give a Pair' and 'Good Fits' programs have donated millions of pairs of socks to people experiencing homelessness and to causes spanning mental health and LGBTQ+ youth support.
Jimmy Lion
Jimmy Lion is a New York-founded designer sock brand launched in 2014 by two Spanish MBA classmates, Felipe Cortina and Alvaro Gomis, who left banking to make original, premium-quality socks at accessible prices. Known for bold prints and licensed collaborations spanning artists and pop culture (Basquiat, Friends, Alfred Hitchcock, Jurassic World), the brand sells direct-to-consumer online and through roughly 400 multi-brand and department stores across 50+ countries, and has expanded beyond socks into tees, underwear, swimwear and slippers.
Felipe Cortina
Felipe Cortina is the co-founder and co-CEO of Jimmy Lion, the colorful sock brand he launched in New York in 2014 with fellow ex-banker Alvaro Gomis. A Madrid native who traded an investment-banking career for an NYU Stern MBA and then for a single product nobody else seemed to take seriously, Cortina turned the most forgettable item in a wardrobe into a design object sold in more than 30 countries and on the shelves of El Corte Ingles, Galeries Lafayette and El Palacio de Hierro. He also chairs his family's Vallegarcia winery in Toledo.
