Ian Kalin is the CEO and co-founder of TurbineOne, a San Francisco defense-technology company building the Frontline Perception System - machine learning that runs on the sensor at the tactical edge, without the cloud, so warfighters can spot threats in real time. A Georgetown-trained politics major turned Navy nuclear engineer and counter-terrorism officer, Kalin later became the first Chief Data Officer of the U.S. Department of Commerce and a Presidential Innovation Fellow before building the product he says he wishes he'd had while serving. TurbineOne has raised more than $55M, holds 20+ Department of Defense contracts, and works across the Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps in the Indo-Pacific.

Andrea Ippolito is the founder and CEO of SimpliFed, an Ithaca, New York company building a maternal health operating system that delivers virtual breastfeeding, infant nutrition and OB support to families in all 50 states at no cost through health plans. A biomedical engineer by training, she co-directed MIT Hacking Medicine, co-founded Smart Scheduling (acquired by athenahealth in 2016), served as a Presidential Innovation Fellow in the White House, and ran the VA's Innovators Network before turning her own postpartum struggle into a company that now partners with 300-plus health systems and raised an oversubscribed $10.8M Series A in 2026.
