JetBrains is a privately held software company that builds professional developer tools used by millions of programmers worldwide. Founded in 2000 in Prague, it is best known for the IntelliJ IDEA family of integrated development environments - including PyCharm, WebStorm, Rider, GoLand and CLion - and for creating the Kotlin programming language, now Google's preferred language for Android. The company also builds team tools such as TeamCity, YouTrack and the ReSharper extension for Visual Studio, and has moved aggressively into AI with its Junie coding agent and AI Assistant. JetBrains has never taken outside funding and remains self-funded and profitable.

Cursor is an AI-first code editor built by Anysphere, a San Francisco startup founded in 2022 by four MIT graduates. Originally a fork of Visual Studio Code, Cursor has evolved into a full agent-based development platform where autonomous AI handles everything from autocomplete to end-to-end feature building. With $2B+ in annualised revenue, over half the Fortune 500 as customers, and a valuation that reached $29.3B after its Series D in November 2025, Cursor has become the fastest-growing SaaS company ever from $1M to $500M ARR - turning the IDE from a code-writing tool into an AI orchestration layer.
Jeff Wang
Jeff Wang is the CEO of Windsurf, an AI-powered coding assistant that was acquired by Cognition (makers of Devin) in July 2025. Previously Windsurf's Head of Business, Jeff stepped into the CEO role during a chaotic week in which the company's founders departed to Google and a $3B OpenAI acquisition fell through. Working through a single frantic weekend, he negotiated a new deal with Cognition that protected all 250 employees. A former engineer who detoured through Cisco and Salesforce before betting his career on early-stage AI startups, Jeff is also a General Partner at RNR Capital and co-founder of RocketFuel Education.
Paul McCabe
Paul McCabe is the CEO of JetBrains Americas, Inc., the North American subsidiary of JetBrains - the Czech developer tools company behind IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, Kotlin, and dozens of other IDEs and tools trusted by over 11 million developers worldwide. With a career spanning Logitech, Symantec, Miro Computer Products, and WebGain, McCabe brings over three decades of enterprise software sales and operations experience to one of the most influential developer tooling companies on the planet. He also co-founded Chronon Systems, a Java time-travel debugging startup, and has been steering JetBrains' Americas business since November 2015.
