Outship
Outship is a San Francisco technical-screening startup from Y Combinator's Winter 2025 batch that evaluates software engineers by how they work with AI coding agents rather than by whiteboard puzzles. Candidates complete real coding tasks inside a cloud VM with a browser-based VS Code and agents like Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor, while Outship records every prompt, edit, command, and decision and scores the session against customizable rubrics. Founded by ex-Berkeley AI researchers Saner Cakir (CEO) and Kayla Lee (COO), the company argues that shipping code is now the baseline and that the real signal is how a person steers an agent, makes tradeoffs, and recovers when things break.
HackerEarth
HackerEarth is a developer-assessment and technical-hiring platform that helps companies screen, interview, and hire software engineers using automated coding tests, live coding interviews, and AI-driven interviewers. Founded in 2012 by IIT Roorkee alumni Sachin Gupta and Vivek Prakash, it pairs enterprise recruiting software with one of the largest developer communities in the world, built through years of hackathons and programming contests. Today it serves hundreds of enterprise customers and is repositioning around AI-powered interviewing and evaluation.

Vikas Aditya is the Chief Executive Officer of HackerEarth, an enterprise platform that has redefined how the world's largest companies find, assess, and hire technical talent. Appointed CEO in July 2024, Aditya brings decades of experience from Intel, Veridic Solutions, and his own startup QuikFynd to a company serving 500+ enterprise customers and a community of over 4 million developers globally. Under his leadership, HackerEarth launched OnScreen - an always-on AI interview tool using lifelike avatars - and is pushing the industry toward evaluating aptitude over syntax as AI reshapes software engineering.
