The Dispatch

A CRM built for the salesperson who is never at a desk

Most customer-relationship software assumes a familiar scene: a salesperson at a laptop, methodically typing notes into a database. Privyr assumes the opposite. Its user is a real estate agent between showings, an insurance broker on a motorbike, a financial planner replying to a WhatsApp message at a traffic light. For that person, the leads arrive on a phone - from a Facebook ad, a TikTok form, a Google campaign - and the deal is won or lost by how fast the reply comes back.

Founded in Singapore in 2018 by Aaron Lim and Shivam Mani Tripathi, Privyr set out to collapse the distance between a new lead and a first reply to near zero. The company reports it is now used by more than 300,000 businesses across 125-plus countries, which together have engaged over 100 million leads through the platform. In May 2022 it raised a $6 million Series A led by MassMutual Ventures and Vulcan Capital. The bet underneath all of it is simple: sales happens on the phone now, so the CRM should too.

What Privyr Does

Capture the lead, reply in seconds, follow up on autopilot

Privyr connects to the places leads come from, alerts the seller the instant one arrives, and hands them the tools to respond and nurture - all without opening a laptop.

Instant Lead Alerts

Leads from Facebook, TikTok, Google, WordPress and ClickFunnels flow straight into the app, with a real-time notification the moment someone submits.

One-Tap Engagement

Reply via WhatsApp, SMS, iMessage, email or a call in a single tap, with personalized messages and saved content ready to send.

WhatsApp Auto-Responder

A 24/7 responder greets new leads automatically - even at 2am - then hands a warm lead back to a human to close.

Content & File Tracking

Send a PDF or a web page and get notified when the lead opens it. A view becomes a timing signal: that's the moment to call.

Follow-Up Reminders

Automated reminders and sequences keep every lead warm across multiple touch points until they buy - or clearly don't.

Pipeline On Your Phone

View leads, playbooks and the full sales pipeline from a mobile device, with activity timelines logged as a side effect of messaging.

Privyr provides an easier and more efficient way for businesses to personalise engagements and manage client relationships from their phones.

Who It Serves & Why

The problem: speed, and the people who can't afford to lose it

Privyr's core users are individual salespeople and micro-businesses in high-touch fields - real estate agents, insurance brokers, financial planners, coaches, and marketing agencies. They share one painful reality: a lead that isn't answered quickly is usually a lead that books with someone else. Traditional CRMs, built for enterprise sales operations, are too heavy, too expensive, and too tethered to a desk to help.

Privyr's answer is to remove the friction between a lead landing and a human replying. There is no WhatsApp Business API to configure - it works with the phone's existing WhatsApp. There is no data-entry chore, because logging a contact happens as a byproduct of messaging them. And there is a free tier, which lowers the barrier for a solo seller who would never buy a seat of enterprise software.

How It's Different

Mobile-first, not mobile-also

Plenty of CRMs offer a phone app as an afterthought to their desktop product. Privyr inverts that. The differences that follow are all downstream of one choice.

01

No API, no setup

Works with the WhatsApp already on your phone - no Business API approval, no developer, no waiting to start messaging leads.

02

Speed as a feature

Instant alerts plus a 24/7 auto-responder compress first-reply time from hours to seconds, which is where most deals are actually won.

03

Adoption without the chore

Because logging a lead is a side effect of contacting them, the pipeline stays real instead of becoming fiction reps skip.

04

Free to start

A Free Forever plan and free standalone tools let solo sellers in emerging markets adopt a real CRM without a budget conversation.

Products & Business Model

Freemium software, sold one seller at a time

Privyr's product is a mobile CRM app for iOS and Android, wrapped around lead-source integrations, WhatsApp automations, content tracking, and - for managers - lead distribution rules and performance dashboards under Privyr for Teams. A set of free tools, including a Facebook Leads Viewer and a WhatsApp Bulk Sender, act as a top-of-funnel channel that introduces new users to the paid product.

The business model is classic freemium B2B SaaS: a Free Forever plan, a Pro subscription around $35 per month with a 14-day no-credit-card trial, and an Ultimate plan with custom pricing for teams. Third-party estimates put annual revenue near $2.1 million. Revenue grows as individual sellers upgrade for automations and higher limits, and as small teams adopt the manager tools.

Expertise & The People

An enterprise CRM veteran who shrank the idea

Co-founder and CEO Aaron Lim led CRM initiatives at BlackRock and GIC before starting Privyr - experience with exactly the kind of powerful, expensive enterprise systems that a solo insurance broker could never use. Co-founder Shivam Mani Tripathi serves as CTO. Together they built the inverse of what Lim had worked on: a CRM stripped down until a single person, working from a phone, could actually run their whole sales process on it.

That expertise shows up in the product's restraint. The team - roughly 29 people, deliberately small for its user base - has resisted the pull toward feature sprawl and a desktop-first workflow, betting instead that automation and focus keep the product fast and usable for a global, mobile-only audience.

Funding & Market Position

Backed by investors who study habits and money

Privyr raised roughly $900,000 in seed funding from Wavemaker Partners, Entrepreneur First and angels, followed by a $6 million Series A in May 2022 led by MassMutual Ventures and Vulcan Capital. The round drew a telling roster of participants: Wavemaker Partners again, former Facebook executive Gwendolyn Regina, and Nir Eyal - the author of Hooked, the definitive book on habit-forming products. For a tool whose entire value depends on users reflexively checking their phone and replying, that endorsement is a thesis in itself.

In the market, Privyr sits between two worlds. It competes with WhatsApp-API platforms like WATi and Wati-style tools on one side, and with SMB-oriented CRMs like Kommo, Zoho, Freshsales and HubSpot on the other. Its defensible niche is the genuinely mobile-only seller in high-touch, chat-driven markets - a segment the desktop incumbents were never built to serve.
