Buying a house is an odd starting point for a rewards program. You might do it a handful of times in your life. Then comes a much more frequent activity: buying everything that goes inside. ProperT’s pitch sits between those two moments. Pay with its crypto token, receive a reward, and put that reward toward another purchase. The interesting question is what makes the second transaction happen.
- Acquire PROPT and spend through participating ForumPay businesses.
- The advertised reward is 5% back in tokens, subject to program conditions.
- Gift cards extend the spending route; fees and token value affect the result.
01 / A reward looking for its next purchase
Created by ESG Holdings, LLC, ProperT arrived on Ethereum in 2022. Its early identity was closely tied to property: a buyer could use tokens to fund a purchase through supported payment arrangements and receive more tokens afterward. The company’s LinkedIn profile still carries that home-buying emphasis. But a reward becomes useful when there is something convenient to do with it.
In a Lykken on Lending interview, Bill Erbey put his finger on the frequency problem: “buying a home is episodic.” He described a sequence in which the buyer’s reward could help purchase furniture or tools. That observation explains why a company called ProperT would spend so much effort discussing gift cards. The next purchase supplies the reason to care about the reward.

The customer is someone who already holds crypto and wants to use it. The business also needs the person on the other side of the counter. A token holder may be comfortable with digital assets; a seller may simply want the invoice paid in dollars. ProperT’s product depends on accommodating both preferences within one transaction.
02 / Two sides of the checkout
ForumPay handles that connection. Its real estate process describes verification of the buyer and funds, a scheduled payment involving the buyer and relevant agency or title company, and conversion of crypto into fiat. Settlement then reaches the seller or intermediary’s bank account. The seller does not have to become an enthusiast for the buyer’s chosen token.
That distinction also places ProperT in the market. It is a spending and rewards proposition built around payment infrastructure. Its published description of PROPT is a fungible utility token. A payment toward a home should not be confused with a token representing ownership of a particular home. The property transaction and the payment asset have different jobs.

- 02PayParticipating ForumPay checkout
- 03ReceiveEligible token-back reward
There is an independent sign of a distribution route. In January 2023, payment processor Segpay announced cryptocurrency acceptance through ForumPay and named PROPT among the supported assets. That establishes inclusion in a processor’s offering. It does not mean every Segpay merchant activated it, or that every crypto transaction earned a ProperT reward.
The published quick-start guide makes the buyer’s preparation tangible: set up a compatible wallet, add the token, obtain a receiving address, and acquire PROPT through the buying dashboard. That is several decisions before anyone reaches a shop. For an existing crypto user, the sequence may be familiar. For someone accustomed to tapping a debit card, it is extra work. The reward has to earn its place in that routine, especially when the person could pay using another accepted asset instead.
03 / The expensive part was the small purchase
ProperT’s first blockchain choice created a practical constraint. The company says Ethereum gas fees limited accessibility, particularly for smaller transactions. It credits analysis and conversations with its community for the decision to bridge to Polygon. By December 2023, its published account described ProperT 2.0 as available on Polygon from the previous month.
The arithmetic is unromantic. A transaction cost that looks modest beside a house purchase can become a serious part of a small shopping bill. A reward program has to survive that change in scale. ProperT’s response was to offer another network while keeping Ethereum, rather than assuming the original infrastructure suited every purchase size.
PROPT per withdrawal on Limitlex’s published schedule, checked October 2026. Exchange withdrawal fees, not gas measurements or total purchase costs.
Limitlex’s schedule supplies a concrete example of the difference: 1.2 PROPT for an Ethereum withdrawal and 0.05 PROPT for Polygon. Those figures describe one exchange action, not the whole journey to checkout. Still, they make the design issue visible. Where the tokens live, and how they move, can affect whether a reward feels worthwhile.
04 / A thoroughly ordinary gift card
In March 2024, ProperT introduced CryptoRewards.Store; an April guide explained the purchase process. Customers could pay with accepted crypto for prepaid credit usable with a selected brand. ForumPay processed the conversion. Buying those gift cards with ProperT carried the advertised token-back incentive. The familiar gift card supplied a destination for an unfamiliar payment asset.

This is also an acceptance shortcut. A shop can honor its own prepaid credit without accepting PROPT directly. That does not make the shop a ProperT partner, and the card’s terms still matter. But it reduces the number of businesses that must change their payment systems before the token holder can buy something useful.
05 / Five percent needs a denominator
The reward is denominated in tokens. Its later cash value can change. ProperT says a portion of its intended supply is reserved for rewards; its December 2023 article also includes a weekly reward cap tied to each year’s new release. These details belong beside the percentage when evaluating the offer.
ProperT presents the reward as having no additional reward cost to the merchant. That statement does not eliminate processing, trading or transfer costs elsewhere. ForumPay’s real estate guidance says processing charges can be assigned to either side and are usually paid by the buyer. A useful comparison therefore considers the entire payment path, not just the amount returned afterward.
The February 2025 update from Erbey continued to frame ProperT around encouraging spending and merchant adoption. The transferable idea is straightforward: give a customer a useful next action. Here, that means somewhere to spend a reward. The proposition becomes less compelling when fees consume the benefit, a suitable merchant or gift card is unavailable, or changing token value overwhelms the reward. At checkout, convenience and arithmetic get the final vote.
