The Dispatch

A render farm that fits in a browser tab

For years, the interior designer's toolkit looked like a compromise. You modeled a room in one program, exported it to a rendering engine, waited hours for the machine to finish, then carried the result into an image editor to fix the light. Each step needed a different license, a different skill, and usually a computer expensive enough to make a freelancer wince. Foyr's founder watched that friction up close and built a company around erasing it.

Foyr - stylized in lowercase, with a small square dot standing in for the leading letter - is a cloud-based interior design software company. Its flagship product, Foyr Neo, runs entirely in a web browser and folds the whole workflow into one place: draw a 2D floor plan, pull furniture from a library of more than 60,000 3D models, arrange a room, and generate photorealistic renders and 360-degree walkthroughs without owning a graphics workstation. The heavy computation happens in the cloud, which is the quiet trick at the center of the business. A modest laptop can produce visuals that once required a tower under the desk.

"Our vision is to make home interior affordable and accessible to everyone." - Shailesh Goswami, Founder & CEO

The company reports that more than 150,000 creators use the platform, a group that runs from design students and solo decorators to established firms and, on the enterprise side, property developers. That range is unusual. Most professional software picks a lane - either simple enough for hobbyists or powerful enough for pros. Foyr's bet is that the same tool can serve both if the complexity is hidden well enough.

What It Does

The problem, stated plainly

Interior design has a workflow tax. Foyr's argument is that the tax - not the creativity - is what slows designers down.

The Problem

Too many tools

Designers historically juggle a modeler, a separate rendering engine, and an image editor - each with its own file formats, licenses and learning curves.

The Problem

Hardware gatekeeping

Photorealistic rendering traditionally demands expensive, high-end machines, pricing out students and smaller studios before they start.

The Problem

Slow client turnaround

Renders that take hours or overnight stall the moment that matters most - showing a client something good enough to approve.

Foyr Neo's response: one browser tab, one subscription, and rendering that runs in the cloud - so the bottleneck moves from the machine back to the imagination.
Products & Services

What you can actually make

Foyr Neo covers the full arc of a design project, from a blank floor plan to a walkthrough a client can step inside.

Core Product • 2019

Foyr Neo

The browser-based studio: 2D floor plans, 3D modeling, drag-and-drop furnishing from a 60,000+ model library, rendering up to 12K, 360-degree panoramas and interactive walkthroughs - no CAD background required.

Feature • 2023

AI-powered rendering

Cloud- and AI-assisted rendering that produces photorealistic 4K visuals in minutes rather than hours, aimed squarely at the client-approval bottleneck.

Toolkit

Measure, moodboards & templates

Measurement tools, texture and material libraries, moodboards, design templates and presentation views that round out the day-to-day workflow.

Enterprise

Developer & visualization solutions

Earlier VR and visualization work for real estate developers and design firms - the proptech roots that first attracted JLL as an investor.

How It's Different

All-in-one, against the stack

Competitors are strong, but most ask designers to assemble a toolkit. Foyr's pitch is that the assembly itself is the pain.

The traditional stack

SketchUp + V-Ray + Photoshop gives deep control but spreads the work across three apps, three licenses and a high-spec machine - powerful, but heavy.

The Foyr approach

One cloud tool handles plans, 3D, rendering and walkthroughs. Foyr trades some low-level control for speed, accessibility and a gentle learning curve.

Named alternatives: SketchUp, Planner 5D, Coohom, Cedreo, RoomSketcher, Homestyler, Floorplanner, HomeByMe, Live Home 3D.

Funding & Backers

Backed by real estate, not just VC

Foyr's Series A was led by JLL, one of the world's largest real estate services firms - a signal about where interior-design tech is really heading.

Lead Investor

JLL (Jones Lang LaSalle)

Global real estate services firm that led the Series A and helped open proptech and developer channels for Foyr.

Lead Investor

SRI Capital

Backed the 2018 Series A extension as one of the first deals from a new fund, to help Foyr build a US sales presence.

Figures compiled from public reports (Inc42, JLL, The News Minute, Tracxn, Crunchbase). Employee count (~180) and revenue (~$3.5M) are third-party estimates and should be read as approximate.

The Founder

From Microsoft to floor plans

Shailesh Goswami is not the obvious person to build interior-design software. He earned a B.Tech and M.Tech in Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology from IIT Delhi, added an MBA, and spent roughly sixteen years in the IT industry, including a stint as a senior director at Microsoft India before founding Foyr in 2014.

The through-line from enterprise software to sofas is a philosophy: good software hides its complexity. Foyr applies that lesson to a craft - interior design - where the tools had grown powerful but unfriendly.
