Six Things That Make Fatima Nasir Fatima Nasir

✍️
The Wordsmith

Fatima started her career at the copy desk and never really left — even as she climbed into strategy. She's the rare marketer who can write a killer brief AND the killer headline that comes from it. Her colleagues call it "invaluable." Her clients call it "uncanny." She calls it Tuesday.

01
🎯
The Strategist

At Daraz — South Asia's biggest e-commerce platform — Fatima led brand comms and creative strategy for everything from mega sale campaigns to private-label fashion brand Maahru. She's the person who makes sure the message lands before the money is spent.

02
🎤
The Host

She hosted the WOW Awards 2022 — a ceremony celebrating remarkable women. Every volunteer who worked with her said the same thing: "a breeze to work with." Fatima has the rare ability to make an event feel like a conversation rather than a performance.

03
🌍
The Mover

Karachi to Dubai. E-commerce giant to global mobility powerhouse. Fatima doesn't sit still. Every move has been a deliberate level-up. She's not climbing a ladder — she's building one, rung by rung, in her own image.

04
💡
The Influencer Whisperer

She's written the manual on what NOT to do in influencer marketing — "Don't spoonfeed scripts," "Don't use your team as a litmus test." Her instinct? Pick the person for what THEY offer. Let authenticity do the heavy lifting. It's working.

05
🤝
The Community Builder

On Saturdays, she volunteers as an event host for Women of Wonders — a community for women across industries. She shows up for the community the same way she shows up for campaigns: fully, and with her whole self.

06

"Don't take feedback personally. It's not a question of your ability to write well. It's just that something else is required."

— Fatima Nasir, on creative resilience

From Karachi Copy Desk to Global Boardrooms

Fatima Nasir began her career the way all great writers do — with words and no blueprint. Based in Karachi, she cut her teeth in creative copywriting, building a reputation for writing that didn't just communicate a brand, but captured the soul of it. Colleagues described her work as "thought-provoking," "engaging," and marked by a real knack for "communicating in a way that resonates." That's not praise — that's a job description.

The pivot from copywriter to brand strategist wasn't a leap; it was a natural evolution. Strategy, after all, is just writing with a spreadsheet. Fatima moved into creative strategy and brand communications at Daraz — Alibaba-backed and South Asia's biggest e-commerce platform — where she led campaigns across mega sale events, private label fashion, B2B channels, and cross-company promotions. She managed stakeholders, coordinated shoots, briefed designers, and somehow found time to improve click-through rates on paid creatives too.

She also built Maahru — Daraz's private fashion label — from a brand identity perspective, overseeing everything from campaign themes to shoot production. For someone who could've just written the tagline and gone home, she stayed for the whole story.

Outside the office, she's spent Saturdays volunteering as a host for Women of Wonders, a community platform founded by Zeea Hassan that brings together inspiring women from different professional backgrounds. She moderated live sessions, hosted events, and showed up every week. Because that's who Fatima is: someone who doesn't just believe in the importance of women's voices — she creates the microphone and hands it over.

Now based in the UAE, she's taken her brand-building instincts to Uber — a company where every touchpoint is a brand moment, and the stakes are high. From hailing a ride to building trust in a market as diverse and demanding as the Gulf, communications is everything. And Fatima Nasir is the person in the room making sure every word counts.

YesPress Editorial Board
  • Believes feedback should never be personal — just directional. Re-writes until the brief is served and the idea survives.
  • Has a firm rule for influencer campaigns: don't script authenticity, don't cast by convenience, don't borrow someone else's mould.
  • Favourite brand? Apple. "It sells a feeling, not a product — and wins every time."
  • Pro tip from her own LinkedIn: "A quick feedback call is better than long email exchanges. But. Please. Document. Everything."
  • Her bi-annual Dubai visits used to be scheduled. Now she lives there.
