# Microsoft Fabric

> Microsoft Fabric is a unified, AI-powered data analytics platform that folds data engineering, data science, data warehousing, real-time intelligence, and Power BI business intelligence into one software-as-a-service experience. At its center sits OneLake, a single multi-cloud data lake that removes the need to copy and move data between tools. Copilot is threaded through every workload, letting people build pipelines, notebooks, and reports with natural language. Generally available since November 2023, Fabric is used by tens of thousands of organizations, including a majority of the Fortune 500.
