# Lisbon’s Web Summit public spending

> Lisbon’s approved 2026 plan assigns €10.5 million to Web Summit. Set against the 2025 edition’s 71,386 attendees, 1,857 investors from 86 countries and 178 Portuguese startups selected for the city-backed Road 2 Web Summit programme, that equals roughly €147 per attendee, €5,654 per investor or €58,989 per selected Portuguese startup. Those ratios describe scale, not economic return. This feature sets out the hotel, supplier, investment, transport, displacement and resident-benefit evidence Lisbon should publish before the hosting agreement ends in 2028 and any renewal is considered.
